The 24th Annual Conference of the Egyptian Society Group of Colon and Rectal Surgery showcased the latest advancements in the field of colon and rectal surgery. Held from 30th August to 2nd September at the Intercontinental Cairo, the conference attracted 11+ international speakers from various countries such as Denmark, Belgium, USA, Italy, UK, Qatar, KSA, and UAE. The event boasted a comprehensive program accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.

Surgical interventions play a crucial role in managing IBD. In this session, experts discussed innovative strategies to enhance surgical outcomes, focusing on surgical techniques and perioperative care.
Early detection and treatment of rectal cancer significantly improve prognosis. The conference explored the latest advancements in diagnosing and managing early rectal cancer, emphasizing minimally invasive procedures and organ preservation techniques. Experts highlighted the role of neoadjuvant therapy, including radiation and chemotherapy, in downstaging tumors and enabling preserving surgeries.
