GIS 2022
The Gulf Intervention Society has strived over the past years to enrich the health sector in the Middle East region and ensure equal access to educational opportunities for practitioners out there. It has also worked to refocus the minds of cardiologists and formulate their potential. The GIS Conference was established in 5 successively remarkable editions, and one of its activities was to aggregate efforts and ideas toward nominal aims that benefit the public, states, and health care professionals.
Moreover, 2022 marked the most unique version of the GIS Conference. It elucidated the recent trends and advancements in the field of cardiology with the presence of eminent researchers, cardiologists, cardiac and cardio-thoracic surgeons, and healthcare professionals to discuss aortic valves, mitral valve repair, adult congenital heart diseases, and other topics under a solitary rooftop for a rich and intense 48 hours. It featured a dedicated forum for keynote sessions with more than 20 international speakers focusing on discovering many answers in the field. More than 1500 attendees were brought together to hear leading academic scientists, researchers, and research scholars exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of cardiology and cardiovascular medicine.
Each of the 1500 attendees had the chance to use the premier interdisciplinary platform to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns, as well as experience the practical challenges encountered within the 2 days and figure out solutions that were recently adopted in the fields of cardiology and cardiovascular medicine. And a new addition to this year is the dual knowledge sessions, which were conducted in collaboration with 8 regional and international societies such as the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology, the Cardiological Society of India, the Indonesian Heart Association, the Japanese Circulation Society, the Pan African Society of Cardiology, and the Cardiovascular Research, Education, and Prevention Foundation (CVREP).
Accelerating scientific discoveries and major milestones were the outcomes of 32 workshops and seminars, to which more than 115 participants contributed, including 30 speakers from different countries all over the world. as well as the astonishing value of the accredited hours by the European Accreditation Commission (EBAC) and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) for the equivalent of 15 hours of continuing medical education for external accreditations. The respectable attendees attested to the fact that GIS helped them transform their careers and learn about modern cardiology approaches that they would never have heard about if they had not attended conferences.
The 3rd and 5th of November 2022 will go down in history as two unforgettable educational days! If you’ve missed this year’s version, stay tuned for the GIS of next year.
