Bahrain Diabetes and Endocrine Review Congress (BDER)
The illness profile of the global population is being impacted by busy lifestyles and shifting consumer preferences, particularly for non-communicable diseases like diabetes. The main causes of diabetes are long work hours, lack of exercise, and bad eating and drinking patterns. And this is when our role as professors comes in: to help our patients identify their illness and know how to control it to live a long and healthy life.
Under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council of Health in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Bahrain Diabetes and Endocrine Review Congress (BDER) offered a great opportunity to network between eminent speakers and attendance at regional and international level.
The 5th edition the congress successfully convened for 2 days of academic and industrial expertise gatherings in Gulf Hotel, Kingdom of Bahrain, on February 16–17, 2023, offering an undeniably valuable scientific program showcasing a high level of expertise. 14 CME hours from NHRA (National Health Regulatory Authority) and cutting-edge presentations, plenary sessions, and clinical symposia were all offered to our attendees.
“BDER provided an excellent opportunity to interact with colleagues in Bahrain and participate in a high-quality conference. The meeting was efficiently organised and well attended. Dr. Wiam Hussein and colleagues have done a stellar job in running this conference for a few years and need to be congratulated” quoted, Prof. Salman Razvi, Senior Lecturer in Endocrinology at Newcastle University and a Consultant Endocrinologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, UK
The Congress provided opportunities for sharing the latest information and updates in endocrinology and facilitated professional development and networking for members and all professionals involved in the specialized fields of endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. The scientific committee has put together a comprehensive program offering plenty of learning opportunities in these growing and exciting fields; were 300+ speakers, and attendees were fully immersed in the flow of knowledge.
“Congratulations to the organizers of BDER 2023 on their well-developed scientific program and continuing to provide the healthcare workers in Bahrain with the best evidence-based learning. Meeting experts in the field of diabetes and endocrinology been a pleasure, and listing to their presentations been very beneficial. Wish all the best for future BDER congresses” quoted, Prof. Thamer Alessa, Consultant physician and Head of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital
We at ICOM would like to express our gratitude to the Congress Board Members for providing us with this golden opportunity to plan an event that will have a positive impact on professors, patients, and society as a whole.
